The online build-your-own tool for the redesigned 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is now live, providing full information on this new luxury sedan’s full option pricing and equipment list.
For now, the $41,325 starting price for the 2015 C-Class lineup is for the C300 4Matic model with a 241-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and all-wheel drive. In a few months time, a rear-wheel drive C300 will launch with a lower price of $39,325 with destination, but that model is not yet included in Mercedes-Benz’s configurator.
Standard equipment on the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic includes automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, a new touchpad infotainment controller that controls a 7-inch screen, Bluetooth, and an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C400 4Matic starts at $49,515 and includes a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine that makes 329 hp. It comes standard with all of the equipment from the C300 4Matic, and also adds heated front seats, a Burmester premium sound system, satellite radio, and an AMG styling package that provides a sportier, more aggressive look.
Surprisingly, neither C300 nor C400 models come standard with features you would expect in a luxury sedan like leather seats, a backup camera, or a power passenger’s seat. As such, optioning up the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class with its various equipment packages drives the price up quickly.
For instance, the C300’s $2700 Premium Package adds LED headlights, the Burmester audio system, heated front seats, and satellite radio; the $2690 Multimedia Package for both models adds a backup camera, navigation, voice command, and a 10GB music hard drive; and the $2800 Driver Assistance Package for both models adds various active safety features like adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, lane keep assist, and pre-safe brake assist with pedestrian detection. Other stand-alone options include park assist for $970, a head-up display for $990, an Airmatic air suspension for $1190, and a panoramic glass roof for $1480.
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is now one of the most expensive offerings in its class. A fully-loaded C300 4Matic easily tops $60,000, and the equivalent C400 4Matic with all the options can cost up approximately $66,000. That’s a lofty price for a compact luxury sedan, but we were certainly impressed by the C-Class on our most recent drive, as we said it perfectly “balances all we want from a luxury sedan.”
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class goes on sale late this month in C300 4Matic and C400 4Matic forms, with the base C300 arriving in dealerships in early 2015. Go here to build your own C-Class at Mercedes-Benz's website.
