2015 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT Bows at New York Show

Mirroring the European market’s Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430, which debuted at the Geneva show in February, Aston Martin will unveil the U.S.-spec V8 Vantage GT at the 2014 New York auto show. The special-edition Aston Martin V8 Vantage, available in Coupe or Roadster body styles, will feature more power, a sportier suspension and steering tune, and race-inspired styling packages.
Compared to the standard 420-hp Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the Vantage GT boasts ten more horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque thanks in part to an improved air intake system. Additional air intake valves open when the 4.7-liter V-8 engine revs above 3500 rpm, allowing greater air flow and better combustion. The Vantage GT sends power to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual gearbox, although a seven-speed automated manual transmission is also available. As a result of the improved power output, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT can hit 60 mph from a start in 4.6 seconds on its way to a 190 mph top speed.
Aston Martin specially tuned the Vantage GT’s suspension for maximum motorsport feel, and added a quicker-ratio steering rack. Balancing the enhanced racing attitude is a stainless steel sport exhaust and competition-spec ventilated brakes.
As on the Euro-spec N430, the Vantage GT receives dark-colored body accents for its headlights, side window surrounds, wheels, and tailpipes. Customers can choose one of five racing-livery exterior themes, including Alloro Green, Jet Black, Skyfall Silver, Mariana Blue, and Speedway White. Inside, carbon fiber shifter and sill plaques, as well as a sumptuous leather steering wheel and the V12 Vantage’s sport seats with Alcantara inserts.
The 2014 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT is expected to begin customer delivery in the third quarter of 2014. Aston claims that the limited-edition Vantage GT will start at $99,900 before delivery, which would be a drop of more than $20,000 compared to the 2013 Aston Martin V8 Vantage’s starting price of $122,400 for the coupe. That's a huge discount given the level of performance on offer, making the V8 Vantage GT sound like a relative bargain.
