To create the HPE550, Hennessey takes the Cadillac Escalade’s standard direct-injection, 6.2-liter V-8 engine and bolts on a supercharger and intercooler that make for 6 psi of boost. There’s also a new engine management computer to deal with the extra power, which totals 557 hp and 542 lb-ft of torque—that’s 137 hp and 82 lb-ft more than stock. All of this extra grunt will cost a whopping $15,950, including installation, although it does come with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
All HPE550 models gain special Hennessey badging, embroidered floormats, and a serial-number plaque on the dashboard and the engine. Hennessey is also offering other upgrades for the 2015 Cadillac Escalade to go along with the supercharger kit, like a set of forged monoblock 20-inch wheels for an extra $6950.
If the Cadillac Escalade is too flashy for your tastes, Hennessey will also offer the HPE550 upgrade for any other GM trucks and SUVs equipped with the same 6.2-liter V-8 engine, including the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, the Chevrolet Silverado, and the GMC Sierra.
